Antique Kasane Tansu (stacked chest) or Isho Tansu (clothing chest). Circa late 1800's (1880's-1890's). This piece has been carefully restored as best as can be without disturbing it's original character and charm. Made from Kiri wood, known for it's lightness and resistance to warping and fire. Intricate hand forged iron brackets. Features a secret compartment with two small opening drawers. Gorgeous and very rare antique piece in amazing condition! Please note: this furniture was made in the late 1800's. The wood isn't perfect, (see last photos), and the back side has heavy cosmetic wear.
